  SCg Shoe Company is The First Rider Owned Shoe Company, Est.1999.  

  After separating from the United States Air Force in Feb of 1998, the owner, Steven Caro moved to Greenville NC, following one of his good friends to be closer to what was to become the mecca of BMX on the east coast. On a road trip to FL shortly after the move to NC, a crash at a session at the skatepark would change things permanently. Born out of frustration after a crash in skate shoes, the idea for a better bmx specific shoe arose. With studies in architecture, the drawings were finished straight away, and the search for a manufacturer was on. That took most of the year, and finally towards the end of 1998, samples were going back and forth between Greenville NC and the factory in South Korea. We had our first production shoes for sale at the start of 1999, and the rest as they say, is our history.

  Founded in Greenville NC at the start of what BMX media would come to call Pro Town, SCg's roots are deep in BMX, but also deeply entrenched in most of the things we call Outdoor and Action Sports. BMX was always the first love and the primary, but MTB, Skateboarding, motocross, clandestine car racing, and surfing have all been a part of life and how we grew up.  We've been dedicated to BMX and Action Sports since day one.  The journey of making the best damn shoes possible, has always been first and foremost. To that end, we've always focused on the back end, and that is what lead us to start our own factory in Colombia South America. Today, we've been building out our own facility for 10 years, and we're extremely proud to make our shoes in the Americas. Our factory, our equipment, our tooling, our employees. Thats what enables us to make better shoes than most of the other companies out there, while still remaining competitive with pricing. Our focus on quality is what constantly moves us forward. 

 We've been making shoes for flat pedals since day one. Increasing our offering from just BMX shoes, to shoes for BMX, MTB flat pedals, and clip shoes. We're even making Wingtips and a work shoe with a composite toe based on our hightop. We are makers of Footwear and Apparel for BMX, Outdoor Sports, Action Sports, and those that enjoy the style.
